About
I'm the CEO at Pagecloud, where we're building AI-powered website creation tools.
I also co-founded Pycoder's Weekly, which grew to become one of the largest Python newsletters before being acquired.
Early Days
My first introduction to computers was from my dad when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. He showed me how to play games over BBSs on a 2400 baud modem. I was fascinated that you could connect to other computers remotely and play games, write messages, etc.
From there, I was hooked. I spent countless hours learning how computers worked, eventually teaching myself to program.
Pycoder's Weekly
Mahdi and I were co-workers at a startup, and we had toyed around with a bunch of projects outside of work. Day in and day out, we were writing Python and attending local meetup groups. I had started a Django group that got folded into the local Python group.
We were constantly looking for Python resources, and when programming newsletters were getting popular, we couldn't find one we wanted to read, so we decided to create one. That became Pycoder's Weekly.
Pagecloud
I joined Pagecloud as the first development hire. Over the years I've grown with the company through engineering manager, VP of Engineering, Chief Product Officer, and now CEO.
Outside of Work
When I'm not working, I'm probably tinkering with home automation, homelabs, or hacking on Raspberry Pis.
